2019 - 2023

The Oregon Coast Visitors Association (OCVA) had a problem. They had a brand which was almost 10 years old, was largely unused and mostly misunderstood, even within their own network. So they came to us to simplify things and to remind visitors that the coast is sometimes best in the fall, winter or spring, when wildlife abounds, waves crash and roar, and its authentic character is on full display.

We needed to revamp the brand, but also create three sub-brands—one for each region of the coast—which would work under the larger umbrella of the entire coast brand. We worked with a seven-person committee to ensure each region was represented and all the stakeholders felt happy and heard. We continue to work with OCVA, and have added Travel Southern Oregon Coast and Oregon’s North Coast to our client roster as well. As the brand has evolved, each region has come to us to add their own unique colors, icons or illustrations distinctive to their region that will still work with and complement the larger coast brand.

Oregon’s North Coast additional branding elements: Their region attracts more cosmopolitan visitors, so we positioned them as a sophisticated, serene retreat.

Travel Southern Oregon Coast’s additional branding elements: Being home to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and tons of outdoor opportunities, the mood of the South Coast is one of active adventure.
